Hotel Photography session at Novotel Szeged Hotel

Hotel Photography Beyond Budapest

Sometimes it's truly refreshing to break away from the hustle and bustle of Budapest, especially when we have the opportunity for a hotel photoshoot. Recently, the Novotel hotel in Szeged reached out to our team to capture new interior photos of the renovated rooms and lobby. This opportunity arose within the framework of a complete hotel photoshoot, presenting an exciting challenge for us.

During the photoshoot, we aimed to highlight the key features of the rooms and lobby, including style, comfort, and functionality. With the right lighting and composition, we were able to showcase the hotel's best features.

We also included lifestyle shots

But we went even further; there was a need for some lifestyle and portrait shots in the hotel. Within the two-day photoshoot, the first day focused on capturing the conference rooms, while the second day was dedicated to photographing the hotel rooms alongside lifestyle scenes.

The second day started early with photographing the hotel's buffet table. Just a few food shots and one large interior image were enough, as the restaurant is undergoing renovation and will need to be re-photographed after its completion in April, requiring another visit from us.

Aerial Photo of the Hotel

I tried to take off with a drone and capture some aerial photos, but after reaching an altitude of 30 meters, the drone immediately lost signal and returned to its original takeoff position. This has never happened before, but I was glad that the drone could smoothly return to where it took off from in case of signal loss. It's likely that the numerous antennas on the building's roof caused interference, as the drone communicates via Wi-Fi, which is not as stable as radio signals.

Photographing Hotel Rooms

After breakfast, we proceeded with photographing the hotel rooms. We arranged some setup to give the rooms a lively feel and capture them along with the setup to add some life to the images. Novotel Hotel specifically requested a photo showcasing the breakfast setup with a view of the Szeged Cathedral. We managed to achieve this during the early sunset hours with a small detail shot.

Since the hotel is family-friendly, we needed some photos to reflect that as well. We enjoy these kinds of challenges, where we have to deviate from the usual setups and present something new. Gabi, our colleague responsible for marketing, arranged for her nephew to model. Fortunately, he quickly relaxed, and we were able to capture the moments we wanted in a short time, including jumping on the bed and pillow fights.

Owing to the early March date I was not able to take an outside and drone photo, therefore I am going to return in June for a third day to finalize this issue. Above all, the hotel has a rooftop terrace which is opened for the shooting for us to take a few images.

At Sunset in the Hotel

At the end of the photoshoot, I took some portraits of Timi on the terrace of one of the rooms, with the sunset and the Szeged Cathedral in the background. Hotels appreciate having photos that convey the atmosphere of hospitality beyond the standard ones.
